I love dirt.

That pretty much sums up our Kade. If you look closely at his shirt, that what it says.

The kids went outside today. When they came in, Kade's mouth was full of dog food and covered in dirt...not the first time this has happened. Vitamin deficiency. I don't know what else it could be!

P is for Peace

If you haven't noticed yet, I have a new button off to the side of my blog. This button will take you to the Cora Page Project on Etsy.com. There are crafters all over the country donating their items in honor of sweet Cora. All of the proceeds will fund The Cora Playground in memory of Cora Paige. Please check it out. There are lots of cute things for yourself or for gifts. It is for a good cause.

Kid fun

Friday we were able to do some fun stuff with the kids. We went to Focus on the family again. Maddox had fun going down the big slide MANY times! Kade enjoyed watching Veggie Tales on the BIG screen. And Ava didn't sit still long enough for me to get a non-blurry picture of her!

Later that day, after their naps, Aunt Sandra came over and took us all to the park. It was so cold, but the kids had fun anyway. To warm up, we headed on over to a coffee shop for some hot chocolate. I had fun telling Kade not to pick things up off the floor and eat them and Maddox not to lick his seat. Fun times.

Too much

It has been a whirlwind of a few weeks, to say the least. When I thought things were heavy, they got that much worse.

On Thursday, February 5, my grandpa, Delmar Vollbracht went home to be with Jesus.

The kids and I traveled with my brothers to Colorado two days later.

We spent the next week learning a lot about my grandpa that I had never known before (he had spent the last 26+ years disabled from methane/carbon monoxide poisoning, so I never knew the man he was when my mom was at home). We watched old slides, made fun of my mom and her sibling's do's and get-ups, ate lots of family meals, and spent time reminiscing.

Sunday, I received a call from my friend telling me about sweet Cora. The doctors could do no more for her, and she went to be with Jesus early that morning. It was a struggle getting through the rest of that day. My heart breaks for Joel and Jess. Please continue to pray for them as they learn to live life without their baby girl.

It was a good distraction to be surrounded by family all week. We went to Denver on Tuesday for my grandpa's burial, at Fort Logan. Wednesday was his memorial service, which took place in Colorado Springs. Here are some pics from the week. And check out my brother's site too. He has a lot more.

Apparently, according to the pictures, there was a lot of reading going on!

Heavy

I need something colorful and cheery to brighten my day. I've got that knot in my stomach again. Sweet baby Cora. I'm praying hard.

It looks like the kids and I will be heading to Colorado sometime this week. My Grandpa V. is fading fast. Here we thought we'd be heading to NY for my Grandma's funeral. Then she rallies, and I get a call Saturday about my Grandpa having a heart attack. My parents are dealing with a lot right now. They are both loosing parents. Makes me sad.

Oh, and I just caught up on a long time of not posting. You have to go back all the way back to Jan. 16.

Playing with Dough

I had mom's group this morning, but didn't feel up to it to go. And boy did I hear about it for the rest of the day from Maddox. Might think twice about doing that next week!

We got out the 'bob' play dough instead. Not sure which would have been easier, dragging the kids to mom's group or cleaning up after bob play dough...

Maddox was pretty proud of his creation.

"Um, should I eat this, or no?"

Can you tell she was singing? Wouldn't you appreciate it if your hair dresser sang to you next time you get your hair cut?

Super Bowl Party

We had a big party this year. Seven whole people were in attendance. We had enough food for at least 7 more. So next year, ditch the Sunday School party where you can't even watch the game and come to our house!! Maddox sported his Steeler's shirt (it has his name on the back-very cool. and I don't like football). Brent's parents were cheering on the other team (sorry I can't think of who they are right now. Cardinals maybe?) and Maddox had fun rubbing it in that the Steelers were winning. That was pretty funny. To think, he's old enough for that sort of joking...all on his own. He has quite the sense of humor. Loves to make people laugh.
