Christmas Morning-Stockings

We woke up Christmas morning and drove to grandma's for cinnamon rolls and coffee. Yum. We opened our stockings first.

The kids loved spending time with their cousins. They especially loved sweet little Henry. Ava especially! She is such a little mama.

We then moved into the living room for a little christmas story and the tree presents.

Maddox was pretty shocked and excited about his ds. He had no idea!

Kade enjoyed playing in his boat while everyone else cleaned up around him! We later moved the party on to Uncle Fred's...

Day 2 - Colorado

Today we hung out and recovered from our trip out. In the evening we went to see the lights at Seven Falls. My memory from this adventure: two things: it took us way too long to get to Seven Falls from my grandma's house, and running down a fairly steep incline, holding Kade, trying to get him to the bathroom in a timely manor (can we say shin splints).

As sad as it gets

Many of you may remember Carson, Maddox's preschool friend, that was diagnosed with leukemia 2 years ago. Carson was sent home on hospice last week and passed away this weekend.

Social workers told the 1st graders this morning. Maddox's teacher reports that it was a hard morning for all of them. The kids made cards for Carson's family.

This is so close to home and heartbreaking. I can barely make it through this email. It is too sad. Please pray for Carson's family. Pray that our community can be a light to them during this dark time. Pray that they will feel comforted. Just pray for them. I can't even imagine.

If you feel led, you can donate money to Midland Bank for Carson Hubbard. I know they are in desperate need of money for all the medical expenses.

John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (NIV)

Thankful

We had Thanksgiving at our house this year. It was fun. I had so much fun making the big feast. Who knows, maybe it wouldn't be as much fun if I had to do it every year. Once every 7 years, it was time! Hope you had a wonderful and thankful Thanksgiving. I am thankful for my family, near and far. I am thankful to be able to see most of them this year.

Christmas, here we come!

Gingerbread Fred

Ava came home with Gingerbread Fred today. Each person in her class gets to take him home for a night so he can see what it is like at their house. They had to write about their adventures with Gingerbread Fred. It was so funny to watch Ava take him around. She did everything with him. She played memory and candy land with him, read him a story and played in her room with him. It was quite the experience. After all the kids have had the chance to bring Fred home, they will develop the camera that came with him and make a book with each child's picture and story. What a fun project!
