Creation Museum!

Today we got to go to Cydney's work, the Creation Museum. It was pretty spectacular. Cydney's husband, Jesse, has worked on a lot of the exhibits. It was fun to be able to see the masterpieces he has created.

We raced through the museum part, while Cyd gave me a quick summary of everything. It was a fascinating place. We ate lunch on the deck and then headed out to the gardens. Beautiful. We ended the adventure with a camel-ride. Now who doesn't normally end their adventures on a camel?

Jacob and Jesse are in the picture above. I thought that was cool.

Ava and Kate. (Kate is wearing Ava's hand-me-downs, so she is Ava's mini-me at the moment!)

the rat pack!

these bridges made me a little nervous...they moved...a lot. especially when my son knew I was on it!

they had a small petting zoo, which the kids got a kick out of

and for the grand finale...the camel rides.
that was a fun treat for the kiddos, thanks to Cyd's connections!

the camel is even smiling!

Cyd, you could have even gotten the dino in the picture! Jacob informed me when we got here that his daddy made this dinosaur...well, maybe not this one, but that's okay buddy. Your daddy made lots of other cool stuff!

Day 2 of the Drive

Day two of the drive was pretty good. Kentucky roads are beautiful. Seriously. I wish I wasn't driving so I could take pictures. Maddox woke up this morning with blood on his pillow. His eardrum ruptured at Ava's party on Saturday, and has been draining since, but today there was blood. Seriously. Thankfully it is normal and the doc called in some ear drops that we will pick up tomorrow. He seems to be travelling ok in spite of it all, though. Thankful we aren't flying! Ouch!

yup, got what I need.

I really wasn't mad, just focused! I am the driver, after all!
Love these little passengers. They are doing great!

We finally made it to Cydney's! What a great backyard they have. The kids got to it right away.

Cydney, that was so nice of you to make Ava a birthday cake. Oh, what? That cake is for your dog's birthday? Hmmm. Okay, well that was so nice of you to let Ava blow out the candles, Jackson!
(Cyd, you know I couldn't let you get away with that one without making a little fun!)

East-Bound

Today the kids and I are headed East. It will be just the kids and I for 2 weeks, and Brent will join us for the last week. We have a lot planned for these 3 weeks. We'll see how we survive!

The kids did great today. This is the longest leg of our drive. We made it to St. Louis today. Tomorrow, we head to Kentucky to see my cousin and her family. The kids were having so much fun unwinding in the pool at the hotel tonight. They were ready to be out of the car.

Ava Turns 7!

Our little girl is 7! She is growing up so fast and soon she will be a big 2nd grader! Ava is a fun-loving, girlie, girl. She loves all things girlie, and barbie is no exception. She had a hard time deciding on her birthday cake this year. It was between polly pockets and Barbie. We are leaving on our big East Coast trip tomorrow, but we couldn't pass up having a party for Ava before we left.

An Easter Crafty Day

I saw a lot of people put their easter egg dye in glass cups this year. It looks pretty so I did it too!
