It snowed like crazy today. We got more snow than we've ever seen in Kansas. Over a foot. We started out the day at home. I'm impresses the kids were able to make snow balls this big. The snow was not packing snow at all. We were definitely snowed in, but lucky for us, grandpa came and picked us up. We spent the rest of the day sledding behind the four-wheelers. The kids were out ALL day! Oh, and another first, dad got a snow day too!

Watch out for those flying rocks!
What a beautiful day today. We headed outside after church today. Brent and Joel were still finishing up the basement, so we were trying to keep the kids busy until we had to hop in the car. Kate decided to treat the kids to a last minute picnic. We stopped by the stream to throw rocks on our walk.
these two were right at home...
Headed home. All three kids were zonked out 5 minutes down the road!

KC
We headed to Kansas City this weekend so Brent could help my bro do his electrical in the basement. It started snowing on our way. Took us by surprise!
Kate and I decided to take the kids to Kaleidoscope at Crown Plaza. We had a car-full!
The kids were in the crafting mood!

V-Day: Family-style
Valentine's day is just a fun day. I love making it a special day for the kids. I feel like there can be so much pressure around this holiday. My opinion, people just need to chill and make it fun.
They woke up to pancakes and eggs a few sweet treats.
Brent requested chocolate cake. And since he never requests dessert, I had to oblige!
Heart-shaped pizzas...of course.
candlelight dinner, or "ghost dinner" as Kade likes to call it.
our three little valentines.

Donuts With Dads
I've had a couple sick kids to take care of for the last several days. Thankfully they were all well enough to go have donuts with dad at school! (and I'd be lying if I weren't a little glad to have a day to finally get some stuff done!)
they are goofy.
And completely unrelated...Ava has been building a covered wagon for school. She has really gotten into it. She keeps coming up with things to add to it. It has been really fun to watch her mind in action!
