We headed over to Brent's parent's house for a second birthday celebration. Things got crazy.

Today was Brent's 33rd birthday (if you couldn't guess by the title!). It was also Maddox's first roller skating party. A big day! First, I'll show you Brent's party.
I surprised him! He is a hard one to surprise.

The kids had fun jumping on the bubble wrap.

He refused to tell me what he wanted for his birthday meal. I hate when he does that, but I think I picked a good one. I made him a filet with cranberry-port reduction and gorgonzola butter. He likes fancy sauces for his steak! I took him a big chocolate cake at work, so for supper I made a cheesecake. I hate baking cheesecake. I have yet to find that perfect recipe. Oh well, it still tasted good.

Easter fun at the zoo

I had a brunch to go to this morning with girls from my sunday school class. Little did I know, as soon as I was out the door, Brent and the kids piled in the car. Daddy was taking them to the zoo for a little easter fun. It turned out to be pretty lame from Brent's report, but the kids had fun with their dad anyway.

Building blocks

Daddy and Ava built this big tower. When it was all finished, Ava got to knock it down! I'm not sure Brent thought this last part through, but thankfully no blocks hit her on their way down. Yikes!

My 'new'/old dresser

Last fall, Brent and I found a dresser at an auction that I was very excited to find. It was beautiful, but needed to be refinished. The before shot isn't that great. I think Brent forgot to take it until after the drawers were out and didn't feel like putting them all back just to take the picture.
