Mexico Trip: Day 3-at the beach

The sun hasn't come out much on this trip. Today was no exception. They said a hurricane was headed back this way, making the seas a bit sloshy.

This is the view from our room.

This too.

Brent wanted me to get in...no thank you!

Mexico Trip: Day 2

Sat on the beach all day. Not too shabby.

Brent playing soccer. He was the only one who spoke English...pretty funny for a guy who hasn't played soccer much!

Turtle Release

We headed down to the beach to watch the sunset and stumbled upon the entertainment crew doing one of their turtle releases. Very cool. I've watched this before when we went to the beach in Ocean Isle, NC when I was younger, but they NEVER let you touch, let alone, hold the baby turtles!

We had to "wash" our hands with sand, so the turtles could smell the beach, not our skin.

It was kind of funny, because before they handed us our turtle, they went through a lengthy speech on how the hold the turtle properly, etc., etc. Then after we had all released our turtles, the turtle guy at the end dumped all the rest out of the cooler onto the beach. hmmm...

As if this experience wasn't cool enough, there's more. After dinner we headed to the beach again for a stroll in the moonlight. What did we stumble upon this time (almost quite literally), a sea turtle coming ashore to lay her eggs! A real live sea turtle. And it was just another couple and us that watched the whole thing! It was amazing. I really wish we had our camera with us. It was probably for the better, as we had just learned they don't like the flash and it can possibly blind them.

So, day one, and I had already released my first baby sea turtle AND helped a momma have her babies (I moved some chairs out of the way...that's helping)! AMAZING!!! I may just have to add marine biologist to my repertoire!

Mexico Trip: Day 1

We headed to the airport bright and early this morning. We were headed to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a week-long vacation. Just the two of us. To celebrate our 10th anniversary. Ten years! Can you believe it?

Just in case you were getting homesick already...a walmart to calm your nerves and make you feel right at home.

Speaking of home...when we got to the resort we were greated with "Welcome home, Mr. and Mrs. Sweigart." How cool is that?

I can't exactly say I felt like I was at home. I was pampered too much. They handed us cool washcloths as soon as we stepped out of our taxi. After checking in (I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of the beautiful lobby), we still had to wait for our room, so we went exploring.

Umm, yes, please. I'll get married again. Right here.

Plowing

We wanted to get some grass planted before it gets too cold. Brent was feeling resourceful today!

All-day Kindergarten is here!

"Yay!!!!" was Maddox's response when I woke him up this morning. He was so excited that it was the first day of all-day Kindergarten.

I'm going to miss this little guy. It was almost like the first day of school all over again. I got a little teary eyed again, as I watched him get on the bus.

But, no time for that. I gotta go get Ava to preschool!
