Blake Turns 2!

Happy Birthday, Blake!

The plan was to go see hot air balloons for Blake's second birthday. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating. We went to the park. the kids played hard at the playground, despite the misty rain, but no balloon launch. They did try to pacify us with blowing three balloons up for a couple of minutes, but that was all they could do. Bummer. At least we got to see them last year.

Puddle Jumpers

We headed out for a walk and romp at the park this morning. The kids collected rocks to throw in the stream, but we never ended up using them. We spent too long at the park and had to make it back for supper.

School's Out For The Summer

The kids were both sad to see school end this year. I am so thankful that they both love school. It has been awesome to see their progress through the year. We are especially thankful to both of their teachers. 

It is hard for a little kid to think of next year being different, with a new teacher. Maddox cried the other day, saying he didn't want to leave 1st grade and his teacher. He loves her so much. 

And as a surprise to her mom, Ava cried when I picked her up from school yesterday. She too will miss her teacher.

It's been a great school year. It is hard for this momma to accept that it is over. I now have a preschooler, a 1st grader, and a 2nd grader! My babies are far from babies. But let's just not think about that all summer and have some fun!

Zoo Field Trip #2

I had the opportunity to go the zoo with Maddox's class a week after I went with Ava. I had Maddox and his friend Santiago in our group. They were characters together. It was a nice relaxing day, actually. Fun to spend it with my boy.

Their teacher is moving to Australia at the end of the summer.

Awana Awards Night

The kiddos finished another year in Awana. This was our first year to have all three of them in a class. They all loved it. But we are all happy to have a break for the summer. Although, Brent and I are going to miss our mid-week date nights!

She Sings!

Ava had her Kindergarten program tonight. She has been practicing for weeks and was really looking forward to it. She wouldn't look at us the entire time. She was so nervous. She finally started singing after the first song. I asked her about it afterwards and she said she made herself sing even though she was scared. That's my girl!

Mother's Day

Zoo Field Trip #1

Today I got to go to the zoo with Ava's Kindergarten class. Kade spent the day with Grandma. This was a first for me and I had a blast. It was so fun to watch Ava with her school friends. It was a long day. I was ready for bed when it was over, but I enjoyed it while it lasted. Now, I need to get some rest before next week. I'm going with Maddox's class!
