A wedding shower

Brent's sister Jessica is getting married soon (May 24!). Since Carissa was home for the week, we decided to throw Jessica a shower. It was fun to meet some of Ben's family and Jessica's friends. We had a rowdy bunch, but all had fun. Who spiked that punch anyway?

Instead of smiling, Kade was yelling, so Maddox thought he'd join in. This shot was the best one of all three of them. Believe me, we tried.

Easter Eggs!

The kids had so much fun cracking, I mean decorating Easter eggs. Ava didn't last very long. More dye was ending up on the chair and floor than on her egg...Maddox did pretty well though. He repeated as he lowered the eggs, "slow and steady". That's my boy!

Another trip to the zoo

This trip dates back to the Thursday before Easter. It's been awhile...The kids and I went to the zoo with a few friends from church.

Spring is in the air

Spring is finally coming. I feel it. Our grass is greening. The tulips are peeking through the dirt. And the best thing about all of this is that we get to spend some much needed time OUTSIDE!

This last Monday I decided to pack up the kids and go to the zoo. We have been cooped up for way too long (oh, right, we did just get out of the country the other week...). Anyway, we called up Aunt Jessica on the way and she met us there.

They loved climbing on the bear statues. "Mom, mine doesn't move!"
One last stop at the petting zoo. "Ava, that's sheep poop. Don't pick it up." "Ava, please don't feed the sheep rocks."
Fun times.

Birthdays and warm days

Happy Birthday to my husband and grandma! March 3rd was Brent's 30th and my grandma Vollbracht's 80th! We celebrated quietly, at home on Monday with chocolate cake and peaches(yuck). On Friday we had his family over for dinner and cheesecake.
I made Brent hold the balloons! Doesn't he just look cute! (oh he is going to love this one)

This last weekend was finally nice outside for a change. The kids enjoyed romping around in our backyard.

Hola!

Well we made it back in one piece. We had a wonderful trip to Mexico. The weather was beautiful most of the time. The kids did great traveling to and from. Thankfully they were able to sleep at night and take naps on the beach. It was so relaxing and peaceful. Just what we needed. I put all our photos on the slideshow to the right, so check them out.
